It’s the Finale of Blogger Idol–that means this is officially the last time I’m pestering you for votes! (Yay!!)
This week we had to write two posts. One was a Blogger’s Choice, the other we had to choose from a list of 40 Awful Writing Prompts. I decided to not play it safe. At all. So, I have two very different posts.
In my Blogger’s Choice post–Everything I Ever Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten–I wrote about a six-year-old kindergarten student who was suspended from school for sexual harassment for kissing a classmate on the hand. It’s a passionate piece with strong feelings. Not quite one of my rant posts, but you won’t wonder how I feel about it.
“And That Was All.” is my prompt post. Of the forty awful options, I chose End with the line: And that was all. I wrote a story about a debacle of mine on New Year’s Eve. It’s a 100% true story that’s kept its legs for a solid nineteen years. It comes up often enough that there’s no chance any of my family members will forget it–and after you read it, you’ll remember it too. It’s a hilariously humiliating story that I am sharing with the world. Go Big or Go Home, right??!
I’ve written my posts and the judges have entered their scores. Now I need you!!
Here’s what to do:
Click www.blogger-idol.com’s “Voting for the FINALE is OPEN!” to go to the voting page. Once you’re there, you’ll see 2 options to vote for Real Life Parenting. You can choose either one indicating which post you liked better (if you choose to read them … I do recommend it–these are pretty good, if I do say so myself.). Then be sure to click VOTE!!
As always, you get one vote per IP address. (Think once per direct / Wifi connection.) You can vote from your work computer (and your colleague’s work computer–wink, wink), your home computer, a laptop, an iPad, your phone, your spouse’s phone, your teen’s phone … anything that gets you to the internet. (Note: Be sure to turn off Wifi on your smart phone so you can vote again!) If you’re at a computer and want to go straight to the Blogger Idol page, just enter www.blogger-idol.com in the browser and click Voting for the FINALE is OPEN. You should see the little blue ballot there.
Also, if you’re out and about between now and 11:59 pm CST Thursday, you can log onto Wifi in stores and restaurants and you can vote AGAIN!!!
What’s that? You want to help even more?!?!?!!!??
Here’s what else you can do: using the little buttons at the bottom of this post, you can SHARE this on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and / or you can email it to all your friends and family asking them to vote for your friend, Jen.
I’d love to hear from you!! You can comment at the end of the posts on the Blogger Idol site, or you can comment here. It would really be a boost for me in this wildly stressful, end-of-the-contest-frenzy to feel the love from you!! <3
I’ve come this far with your votes and support, now I’m really hoping that you can help me become this year’s Blogger Idol!!!
